Sundays tanner takes aim at ‘stupid’ salon

The latest tanning salons to have come under fire for a lack of safety standards in recent years include one in Houston, where the city’s police chief says an employee was attacked and stabbed by a man who said he was “not going to stop.”

The incident at the Sunshine Lounge on Sunday morning, which led to the officer being stabbed in the face, occurred as the salons staff members were preparing for a large group of customers, according to Houston police.

Officers responded to a call of a possible assault on a Sunshine Lounge employee at 11:40 a.m.

The suspect was found in possession of a knife and fled on foot.

He was taken into custody and taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released.

He remains in custody pending further investigation.

The Houston Police Department released surveillance video of the incident on Tuesday, and said the suspect was later identified as 29-year-old Michael Lee Moore.

A motive for the attack is unknown, but the department has not released details about Moore.

Moore has a long history of criminal activity in Texas, according an investigation released Tuesday by the state attorney general’s office.

He pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in December 2015 after assaulting a Houston police officer.

Moore was sentenced to 18 years in prison in the 2015 attack.

Moore’s criminal history has been well documented in recent months, as authorities have released hundreds of videos that show Moore’s crimes, including the attempted robbery of a restaurant in March.

He has also been charged with assaulting another officer, a felony.

Moore previously served time in prison for domestic battery in 2008 and 2009, according the Houston Chronicle.

The state of Texas has a policy against releasing a person’s mugshot, but a spokesman for the state’s Attorney General’s Office told ABC News on Tuesday that Moore’s mug shot is now available on the Harris County Jail’s website.

“This is an ongoing investigation, and we are not releasing the video,” the spokesman told ABCNews.

“We are looking into the circumstances surrounding the arrest.”
